Key Warehouse Expansion for International Ingredient Supplier Begins

Posted by admin on August 28, 2019

An international ingredients supplier turned to Teccon for help and advice in the design and installation of racking and safety systems into a new purpose built warehouse.

Teccon, chosen after a competitive tender, demonstrated from the start a comprehensive yet consultative approach to the project with rapidly changing goals to create a single cohesive solution to maximise storage and efficiency.

So, we’re all set. Ready to begin installation of the racking and supporting systems. As our customers have come to expect, our team will be working to a tight installation schedule to complete the project to meet their needs.

This is the first in a series which will follow the installation which will include a time-lapse video of the project so do come back or sign up to our newsletter to get updates when they are released.

What we’re doing

Teccon are pleased to have been partners in this project from its conception. Being asked to consult on and design the specifications for the warehouse itself pre build.

The final design includes:

  • 3300 Pallet Racking positions up to 15m in height for a variety of pallet sizes
  • 8 Beam Levels per bay complete with Pallet Support Bars
  • P&D beams (Pickup and Deposit Stations) are added to assist in load handling between trucks

As part of the safety consultation the design will incorporate in-rack sprinklers, roof sprinklers and wire guidance for VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) trucks to operate.

Challenges

With low access to the high building, accessibility is at a premium and is to be met using our experienced team’s installation methods.

Because Teccon were engaged at the early design phase, all aspects have been consider and have been able to maximise storage and efficiency, consulting on the optimum solution from the concrete slab to the size of structure. Being in control of these variables and pulling on our experience, we can mitigate any issues that may occur plus maximising the full usage of the warehouse.

What it means for them

In line with the customer’s long term goals, the increased volume of pallets available and seamlessly integrated warehouse will enable the expansion of their operations in the UK and Europe.

Delivering consistent quality throughout, our proven systems, client communication and dedication to client operational needs demonstrate exactly why Teccon continue to receive the customer confidence needed to be the first choice for storage solutions and expansion projects such as this.
