Online Sales Growth Leads to Ecommerce Warehouse Expansion
As a result of growing ecommerce sales in the first half of 2020, we are about to begin increasing capacity in the warehouse of a Midlands based international online cosmetics retailer.
Our team are working hard to ensure that this £350k investment meet the needs of our customer and their business, catering our bespoke designs to the existing building.
What we’re doing
This solution will consist of the installation of a new mezzanine floor totaling 1350 sq metres with conveyor feed from picking to dispatch areas, spanning two levels of the warehouse.
Additionally, we are also creating a new goods lift, long span shelving, short span shelving and palette racking storage to hold an increased number of products within this updated space.
What it means for them
This project will help to optimize the storage space in their warehouse, making full use of its height by expanding into redundant space while increasing it’s overall storage capacity. This also has the benefit of avoiding the need to look at relocation plans.
Key to this project is the conveyor taking products picked from the ground floor from long and short span shelving to a new dispatch area on mezzanine level, helping to increase efficiency and productivity throughout the warehouse.
This warehouse mezzanine, racking and shelving project is scheduled for completion within 8 weeks. We are continuing to follow safe practice procedures based on government recommendations and consequently, this project will be controlled by construction, design and management regulations at night, under the current covid-19 government guidelines.
We aim to show the ongoing progress of this project to demonstrate our ability to cater to our customer’s needs, budget and time constraints, outlining our competence in providing a high-quality experience throughout the installation process.
Work is shortly to begin on the Midlands distribution centre. Come back for regular updates and find out more.
