Configuration Options

Hi280 Steel Shelving

Suitable for stand alone and manually served picking and storage areas to large fully automated central stores, the shelving system is the most flexible and versatile storage system for small part handling.

The design of our shelving system from Dexion uses a clever construction method. Its design is based on a minimum number of components; the basis of the system is uprights and shelves made from high grade pre-galvanized steel.

The variety of applications is endless, can be built as a traditional shelving system or as a high rise installation with floors between levels.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Manually Served Picking
  • Versatile Storage Configurations
  • High Rise Installation
  • Fully Automated Central Stores

Longspan Shelving

Long Span shelving is fast and easy to assemble and uses a modular design that provides the maximum storage capacity, no matter what space is available.

The Long Span shelving system allows for the easy adjustment of storage heights and configurations as your requirements change.

Simple to Install and Re-configure

The Long Span shelving system incorporates a wide range of frame and beam sizes making it simple to customise an installation that meets your exact needs. Medium and Long Span bays can be combined in the same rack for the efficient storage of a wide range of different items.

BENEFITS

  • Quick and easy to assemble
  • Adjustable heights for flexibility
  • Ideal for storage of big and bulky items
  • Stores up to 900kg per shelf
  • Maximum load per bay up to 4500kg
  • Wide span shelves up to 3000mm
  • Bolted frame for strength and reliability
  • Designed for storerooms, archive storage and workshops
  • Modular design

Enhanced Safety

Our longspan shelving systems are designed and tested to comply with the recommendations of the FEM Shelving Design Code 10.2.06. The bolt free lock-in system ensures that once the support beams have been located, they remain in position improving safety for operatives accessing the installation.

Narrow Aisle Shelving

Our narrow aisle shelving system is manufactured from pre-galvanized steel on fully automated production lines. The design of the system is based on the principle of a minimum number of components in order to provide a simple, fast assembly and rebuild process.

Narrow aisle system is tested, dimensioned and approved according to the European FEM norms.

Narrow aisle shelving systems are mostly used in warehouses running 24 hours per day preferably with automated cranes. The main advantage of a narrow aisle storage installation is the optimization of storage space, this due to the fact that rail-running cranes demand less manoeuvring space compared with traditional forklift handling.

BENEFITS

  • Maximum Storage Optimisation
  • European FEM Approved
  • 24hr Running with Crane Automation

Mobile Shelving Systems

Perfect for archive and small parts storage, mobile storage is very versatile when compared with other shelving systems.

Providing an optimal compact storage system it is perfectly suited to the storage of small parts, boxes or tyres. The shelving system is mounted on mobile units that run along rails, these mobile units match the depth and width according to standard sizes.

With security code acces, compact, mobile shelving systems create very secure storage as units can be locked together.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Small Parts Storage
  • Archive Storage
  • Tyre Storage
  • Controlling User Access

Multi-tier Shelving Systems

Multi-tier shelving systems are a construction of shelving bays built in two or more levels with interposed mezzanines.

The bottom shelving is the support for the mezzanine floor. The uprights are heavy duty and dimensioned in order to carry the loads from the floor above. Shelving built as a multi tier installation is often used in larger warehouses for spare parts or where the storage of many articles is required often with a low turnover.

The base of a multi-tier installation is the shelving itself, built of EK uprights made of 1.2 mm pre-galvanized steel. The uprights can be either full length, where they support both levels of shelves and the access walkway, or single, when they support the lower shelves and a mezzanine with free standing shelving units above.

Increased Storage Capacity

Multi tier shelving provides better storage capacity than standard shelving on the ground floor with a structural mezzanine floor above and more shelves on top, this is because there is no need for pillars to support the second floor tier (this is supported on the static shelving units). Due to the relatively slim steel grid floor a second level is often possible, where normally a thicker mezzanine floor construction could preclude it. The thinner floor also allows for an additional level of storage to be included.

Cost Effective Storage

There is a very substantial cost saving on the construction costs for a multi-tier construction when compared to standard shelving on two floor levels plus a mezzanine floor, as a separate floor does not need to be purchased and the floor and shelving are all built as one, saving manpower and time. Along with the additional extra storage space, multi–tier shelving installations can often become the most economical choice.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Optimised Storage
  • Low Turnover Parts Storage
  • Cost Efficient Storage

Medium Span Shelving

Medium Span shelving is often used for creating multiple pick locations and is suitable for larger or heavier products which are preferably stored on chipboard shelves. For this purpose we developed the Medium Span shelving option.

Many parts and accessories from the standard shelving range are also suitable for Medium Span shelving. This makes these two shelving systems very compatible and they can easily be combined with each other.

The Medium Span shelving system is assembled just like the standard shelving system and has the same features and accessories, therefore they are just as suitable as standard shelving for both static shelving or mobile shelving.

Medium Span can also be used as the basis for applying carton flow systems or in a similar way to standard shelving for multi-tier applications.

The inlay shelves are standard 18 mm chipboard, but custom sheet metal or steel shelves are also available.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Large & Heavy Products
  • Used With Carton Flow
  • Easy access
  • Integrating with Other Shelving

Shelving Storage Containers

Combine your shelving with our Maxi Storage Bins to optimise the organisation of your small parts, stock items and components in your warehouse, workshop or stores.

Maxi Bins can be stacked one on top of another to provide desk or assembly bench storage or form part of an integrated storage system. They can be hung from a range of louvered panels that can be rack or wall mounted.

Maxi Bins can also be located on shelves to hold those small parts that would otherwise be difficult to store in conventional racking or used within a picking operation to transport parts to or from an assembly area.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Small Item Storage
  • Stackable, Shelf, Rack or Wall Mounted
  • Extremely Versatile

Carton Flow Shelving

Carton Flow is a vital part in the supply chain, for components at assembly lines and conveyer belt lines. A picking station is constructed of a rack supplied with leaning roller tracks, used to transport components to the assembly station.

Wheeled tracks can also be used in warehouses as a part of the overall logistic process. Loading on one side and unloading on the opposite according to the FIFO principals (First in first out).

Carton Flow shelving is built either as stationary units or supplied with lockable wheels allowing for fast and simple changes in warehouse layout. Loading and unloading are separated into different aisles and picking can be conducted without interruptions.

The racks are adjustable and designed from an ergonomic point of view in order to obtain efficient handling for the workers.

Storing in Carton Flow shelving has large economic advantages due to the fact that cartons are stored with a high packing density, releasing floor space – compared with traditional storage methods, while also reducing travel distances and times between stock shelves and picking face.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Assembly Lines
  • Picking Stations
  • FIFO Principal
  • Wheel Track Options
